Former TARP Chief Criticizes Administration for Housing Crisis

Neil Barofsky, former special inspector general for the
Troubled Asset Relief Program, criticized the Obama Administration
and the U.S. Department of the Treasury on Dec. 15 for failing to
provide adequate help for struggling homeowners over fears of
political backlash, National Mortgage News reported. Barofsky made
his comments during a panel discussion organized by ProPublica at
the Tenement Museum in New York City. ProPublica is an independent,
nonprofit investigative organization focused on public interest
issues.
